Wishes Do Come True
DEAR FRIENDS,
We know you care about protecting children, that’s why you are taking time now to read this, and we thank you.
It seems each day we wake up to another revelation of sexual abuse by someone we thought we “knew“.
The brave women and men whose recent disclosures of sexual assault share pain “….violation of trust…..dream crushing…..stolen confidence…shame…”.
Through their words we begin to understand how an assault forever changes a life and the scope of the awfulness. We are learning how these acts are hidden by the power of the abuser and the heartbreaking struggle of the victims. Can you imagine the magnitude of this for a child?
We absolutely must bring justice and healing to victims, it is their due. But isn’t protection an absolute right of every child?
-
Our PASSION is prevention – to protect a child BEFORE harm is done.
-
Our MISSION – to work to increase awareness of the effects of child abuse and promote solutions.
Our Blue Ribbon campaign awareness work is ongoing
Our Blue Ribbon campaign awareness work is ongoing throughout the year and highlighted annually during national Child Abuse Prevention month in April. This year we received over 140 requests for our campaign materials which we fulfilled at no cost to the organizations and agencies making the requests.
We believe in education as a solution for prevention with Safety Awareness Education as a very integral part. Due to our participation in the 31st Annual San Diego Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment we were nearly overwhelmed by requests for the Safety Awareness Toolkit and support materials from Children’s Advocacy Centers, pre-and elementary schools, youth groups, university teaching hospitals, offices of public and private therapists and clinicians from around the country, even outside the U.S. Again, all fulfilled requests were done so at no cost to the qualifying (recognized government agency and non-profit) organization.
While we’re proud and honored at having received this resounding confirmation by the people who serve child victims, it is somewhat bittersweet. We want to be successful at prevention as well as intervention.
WE NOW HAVE TWO FORMS FOR REQUESTING MATERIALS
We now have two ways to request our Safety Awareness Materials for Children. If you represent an agency or organization, you will be taken to the familiar form where you can apply for the materials, describe how they will be used and tell us about the services you provide to children. Or if you are a parent who would like to contribute a partner donation in return for materials, you will be taken to a separate form. This form is also for any individual who would like to sponsor materials. Take a look and as always, we would love your feedback!
SEASON OF GIVING ♥️
If you are considering Partners In Prevention during this time of giving, please know we spend every penny preventing child abuse and protecting childhood. We are a volunteer group, small but mighty, with the good fortune to have all administrative expenses hosted at no cost.
