Partners In Prevention
Partners in Prevention is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2010 we have worked to increase awareness of the effects of child abuse and neglect and to promote solutions by supporting prevention services within a wide range of communities.
We are a diverse group of people from all walks of life—business, government and civil society that believe in protecting childhood for children today so they can fulfill their potential as adults tomorrow.

The Blue Ribbon
In the late 1980’s a very personal awareness campaign was conducted by a Virginia grandmother, Bonnie Finney, whose grandson had died as a result of abuse. Ms. Finney tied a blue ribbon to the antenna of her car to remember and honor her grandson. She spoke out in her community to alert others of the tragedy of child abuse and the use of the Blue Ribbon has since expanded across the country, embraced by many.
Partners in Prevention’s logo is a new expression of the Blue Ribbon that includes a red heart signifying hope and empowerment. Our partners wear and display this ribbon as a sign of support for prevention programs that work to end child abuse and neglect through supporting family resilience, empowering children and educating the community.
